This is the privacy policy for Specs for a Self, written by me, Joyce Akiko.
The short version: this blog collects as little as it can. If you sign up for new posts, I keep your email address so I can send you one email when a new post goes up. That’s it.
What I collect
Your email address, only if you type it into the “Get new posts by email” box. Nothing else is asked for.
Server logs. Like most websites, the servers that run this blog keep logs of visits, such as your IP address, your browser type and the page you asked for, so the site keeps running and stays secure. I don’t use them to follow what you read.
What I don’t do
No analytics, no ads, and no tracking pixels on this site.
No cookies for readers. The only cookies here are the ones WordPress sets when I log in to write.
I don’t sell or rent your email address, and I don’t share it with anyone except Hostinger, which runs the signup and sends the emails.
Who handles it
This blog is hosted by Hostinger, and the email signup runs on Hostinger Reach, Hostinger’s email tool. Your email address is stored there, and Hostinger handles it under its own privacy policy.
Hostinger Reach tracks whether each email I send was opened, whether a link in it was clicked, whether it bounced, and whether you unsubscribed, and shows that to me.
Your choices
Unsubscribe any time, with the link at the bottom of every email.
Want your address deleted completely, or want to know what I have? Email me at hello(at)specsforaself.com and I’ll take care of it.
If this changes
If anything here changes, for example if I ever add analytics, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.

That’s all the fine print.
Now for the fun part
Everything on this site starts with curiosity. See what I’ve built with AI, or head back to the blog.
